The students of the “Curso de Educação Física da UniNorte” in Manaus, lead by the professors GLEISER BARBOSA e ESTELA MONEGO, have donated 76 cans of milk powder (each weighing 400-500 grams) for distribution among the indigenous people and the Riberinhos in the area, all of whom are grappling with the unprecedented effects of the 2023 dry season.
Our association traveled to the city to collect the donation and deliver it to the people in the forest village Sao Joao (RDS Tupe).
The mission was carried out on 20th October 2023. Umussy, the director of the association, and her sister Miriam, primarily targeted families with children aged between 1 and 11 years, as well as the elderly. The evident joy of the recipients, receiving not only the milk powder but also the Cesta Basica from Marcia Rebecas on 18th October, served as a perfect testament to our efforts and the hard work we put in under such harsh conditions.
