OUR VISION

Empowering the future of the Amazon rainforest through:

Our mission is to provide language and sports education to children living in the Amazon rainforest, while also working on projects that promote reforestation, combat erosion as well as implementing solar- and wind-based power supply in order to create a sustainable future for the communities and their environment.

Additionally, we seek to protect the unique and diverse wildlife of the Amazon by actively working towards preserving their habitats and raising awareness about the importance of conservation. To achieve our goals, we are working closely together with native people onsite who are supporting our vision, helping us to understand the problems and solving them together.

At the end – a recovered piece of nature and a well informed new generation will make a difference.

Reforestation – Tupe
Our Association has been working since 2013 to restore small parts of the Amazon rainforest through reforestation in our local community, using a “learning by doing” approach and simple, yet effective techniques. We involve local communities in our efforts, and the advantages of reforestation are remarkable.

Capoeira for Kids

Capoeira for Kids – 240101 to 240915

In the past nine months, we have not posted a lot, yet we have done a great deal for the kids here in Praia do Tupe. In the context of the project “Capoeira for Kids,” we run every Sunday throughout the year, no matter what challenges we are facing. Currently, the Amazonas is experiencing its second drought in succession, which is already becoming more extreme than it was last time, occurring even four weeks earlier than in 2023. Despite all odds, our ContraMestre Wilson drives for 2.5 hours each way every Sunday to reach a location on the other side

Preservation of Wildlife

Wildlife in Tupe – 240124 (Happy Crocodile)

Today, 24th of January 2024, our crocodile friend came visiting us and like always it was its lucky day. We got some fish for him. Sr. Croco already knows the procedure: Waiting for a fish to directly land in his mouth – and so it happened. He swallowed about 7 or 8 fishes until he was fine for the day. For us a repetitive event but always again an adventure. We love it.

Capoeira for Kids – 240121

Today, Sunday 21st January 2024, ContraMestre Wilson staid overnight from Saturday to Sunday here in the jungle to start the Sunday lessons in the early morning and before that enjoying the sunrise here with us around 05:30 AM. As always we are starting with breakfast, intense training and then lazure before having lunch. For the children here in the village, the project makes their day. It offers stability and continuity, which is very important in rural communities.
